Processing Animals Through a Working
Once a working is set up with animals and tasks, you process animals one at a time — just like running them through a chute.
How to Start Processing
- Open the working.
- Click Start Working to change the status from Draft to In Progress.
- The first animal in the sequence is presented with all defined tasks.
Processing Each Animal
For each animal, you see the list of tasks to perform. For each task you can:
- Complete — Mark the task as done. This records the action on the animal (e.g., creates a treatment record).
- Skip — Mark the task as skipped and optionally enter a reason (e.g., “Already vaccinated” or “Female — castration not applicable”).
Navigating Between Animals
- Next / Prior — Move to the next or previous animal in the sequence.
- Search by EID or tag — Find a specific animal by scanning or searching its EID or ear tag.
- Assign EID — If an animal does not have an EID, you can assign one during the working.
Animal Status During Processing
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Pending | The animal has not been processed yet. |
| In Progress | The animal is currently being processed. |
| Done | All tasks for this animal have been completed or skipped. |
Tips
- Use EID scanning for speed. If animals have EID tags, scan them to automatically pull up the correct animal instead of searching manually.
- Add notes during processing. If you observe something noteworthy about an animal, record it as a note task in the working.
- Don’t worry about order. While animals have a sequence, you can jump to any animal using search if needed.
