Choosing Report Columns

When creating or editing a report, you can choose which columns appear in the results. This lets you focus on exactly the data points that matter for the report’s purpose.

How to Select Columns

  1. In the report editor, find the Columns section.
  2. Browse or search the available columns.
  3. Add the columns you want by selecting them.
  4. Reorder columns by dragging them into your preferred sequence.
  5. Remove columns you don’t need.

Available Column Categories

Columns are organized by category:

  • Identification — Ear tag, EID, freeze brand, name, tattoo, other tag, ear tag color.
  • Classification — Animal type, sex, status, breeding status.
  • Physical — Color, brand, castrated, dehorned.
  • Birth / Calfhood — Birth date, birth weight, conception type, age.
  • Lineage — Sire, dam.
  • Weights — Current weight, weaning weight, sale weight, average daily gain.
  • Acquisition — Raised/Purchased, purchase date, purchase price.
  • Disposition — Sale date, sale price, death date, cause of death.
  • Groups — Group memberships.
  • Pasture — Current pasture assignment.

Tips

  • Choose columns that match the report’s purpose. A weight gain report needs birth weight, current weight, and ADG. A sale planning report needs ear tag, weight, and estimated value.
  • Keep it readable. Reports with too many columns become hard to scan. Aim for 5–10 columns per report.
  • Always include at least one identifier. Include ear tag or EID so you can identify which animals appear in the results.
