Creating a Custom Report

Custom reports let you view exactly the data you need, with the columns and filters you specify.

How to Create a Report

  1. Navigate to the Reports section from the main navigation.
  2. Click Create Report (or the add button).
  3. Enter a name for the report (e.g., “Active Cows with Weights” or “2026 Calf Crop”).
  4. Choose the columns to display. See Choosing Report Columns for details.
  5. Set the filter criteria to define which animals appear. See Setting Report Criteria.
  6. Click Save.

What Happens After Saving

  • The report is saved and appears on the Reports Dashboard.
  • The report runs immediately, showing all matching animals with the selected columns.
  • Data is always live — each time you open the report, it uses the latest data.

Editing a Report

  1. Open the report from the Reports Dashboard.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Update the name, columns, or criteria as needed.
  4. Click Save.

Deleting a Report

  1. Open the report.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting a report does not affect any animal data — only the saved report configuration is removed.

Tips

  • Start simple. Begin with a few key columns and broaden the report as needed.
  • Name reports descriptively. A clear name like “Bred Cows Due in Spring 2026” makes it easy to find later.
  • Create reports for recurring needs. If you regularly need the same data (e.g., a vet visit list), save it as a report so it’s always one click away.
