Mapping a Pasture

Drawing pasture boundaries on the map gives you a visual representation of your land and enables automatic county detection.

How to Map a Pasture

  1. Open a pasture and click Edit.
  2. Navigate to the Map section.
  3. Use the drawing tools to outline the pasture boundaries on the satellite map.
  4. Click points along the fence line or perimeter to define the shape.
  5. Close the shape by clicking back on the starting point.
  6. Click Save.

What Mapping Provides

  • Visual reference — See your pasture boundaries overlaid on satellite imagery.
  • Map preview image — A tile image of the pasture is saved for quick reference in the pastures list.
  • Center point — The map center (latitude/longitude) is stored for location reference.
  • County detection — The county is automatically determined from the coordinates.

Tips

  • Zoom in for accuracy. Use the satellite view and zoom in closely to trace fence lines precisely.
  • You can redraw at any time. If boundaries change, edit the pasture and redraw the map.
