Mapping a Pasture
Drawing pasture boundaries on the map gives you a visual representation of your land and enables automatic county detection.
How to Map a Pasture
- Open a pasture and click Edit.
- Navigate to the Map section.
- Use the drawing tools to outline the pasture boundaries on the satellite map.
- Click points along the fence line or perimeter to define the shape.
- Close the shape by clicking back on the starting point.
- Click Save.
What Mapping Provides
- Visual reference — See your pasture boundaries overlaid on satellite imagery.
- Map preview image — A tile image of the pasture is saved for quick reference in the pastures list.
- Center point — The map center (latitude/longitude) is stored for location reference.
- County detection — The county is automatically determined from the coordinates.
Tips
- Zoom in for accuracy. Use the satellite view and zoom in closely to trace fence lines precisely.
- You can redraw at any time. If boundaries change, edit the pasture and redraw the map.
