Browsing Sale Barns
The Sale Barns screen lets you explore USDA-reporting auction houses to find upcoming sales and compare options for marketing your livestock.
How to Browse Sale Barns
- Navigate to Market Intelligence from the main menu.
- Select the Sale Barns tab.
- Use the state filter to narrow results to your region, or browse all available barns.
What You’ll See
Each sale barn listing shows:
- Sale barn name — The official name of the auction house.
- Location — City and state.
- Recent auction dates — The dates of the most recent reported sales.
- Favorite indicator — A star icon showing whether you’ve favorited this barn.
Favorites vs. All Barns
You can toggle between viewing your favorites and all sale barns in your state. Favoriting barns you regularly sell at makes it easy to quickly check their latest results.
Tips
- Favorite your regular barns. This saves time and keeps your most relevant auctions at the top.
- Check multiple barns. Comparing prices across two or three nearby barns can reveal better opportunities.
- Look for high head counts. Auctions with more animals tend to attract more buyers and can produce more competitive prices.
