Creating a Static Group

A static group gives you full manual control over which animals are members. Follow these steps to create one.

How to Create a Static Group

Navigate to the Groups screen.
Click Add Group.
On the Details tab, fill in:
- Group Type — Select Static.
- Name — Enter a descriptive name for the group.
- Show on Dashboard (optional) — Toggle on to display this group as a card on the main dashboard.
- Active (optional) — Toggle on to mark the group as active. Inactive groups are hidden from most views.
Switch to the Columns tab to choose which columns display when viewing this group (optional).
Click Save.

A new static group starts empty. You need to add animals to it. See Adding Animals to a Static Group for instructions.

Use descriptive names. Names like “Spring 2026 Sale Lot” or “North Pen” are more useful than generic names.
Show important groups on the dashboard. This gives you a quick count and access point without navigating to the Groups screen.
