First-Time Setup

After creating your Cattle360 account, a few quick setup steps will help you get the most out of the platform from day one.

Recommended Setup Steps

  1. Configure farm settings — Set your farm name and livestock type in Settings > Farm Settings. This determines the animal types, sexes, and features available throughout the app.
  2. Create your first groups — Set up groups that match how you organize your animals (e.g., by pen, pasture, or production stage). See Creating a Static Group or Creating a Smart Group.
  3. Add your animals — Start adding animals individually or use CSV import to bulk load your herd. See Adding an Animal or Importing Animals from CSV.
  4. Set up pastures (optional) — If your plan includes pasture management, create your pastures and assign animals. See Creating a Pasture.
  5. Invite team members (optional) — Add other users on your operation so they can access and record data from their own devices. See Managing Users.
  6. Enable two-factor authentication (optional) — Add extra security to your account. See Security and Two-Factor Authentication.

Getting Started Quickly

If you want to start fast, just do steps 1–3. You can always add groups, pastures, and users later as your needs grow.

Tips

  • Start with a small import. If you have a large herd, import a few animals first to verify the process, then import the rest.
  • Use the Dashboard. After setup, the Dashboard gives you a quick overview of your entire operation. Mark your most-used groups to show on the Dashboard for fast access.
  • Explore gradually. You don’t need to use every feature right away. Start with animals and groups, then add breeding, health, financial, and market intelligence features as you’re ready.
