How to Edit a Transaction
You can edit any transaction to update its details, reassign categories or vendors, change profitability assignments, or correct amounts.
Steps
- Open the Financial Dashboard or Ledger.
- Find the transaction you want to edit.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of the transaction row.
- Select Edit.
- The transaction dialog opens with all current values pre-filled.
- Make your changes to any fields — type, payment method, vendor, category, date, amount, tax, check number, description, groups, or tags.
- Click Save.
What You Can Change
All fields on a transaction are editable except:
- Sale Ticket transactions — The payment type is locked to “Sale Ticket” and cannot be changed. The linked animals section is read-only.
Notes
- Changes take effect immediately after saving.
- The dashboard and ledger automatically refresh to show updated values.
- If the transaction has an attached receipt with line items, the receipt details remain linked. To manage the receipt, open it separately.
