How to Edit a Transaction

You can edit any transaction to update its details, reassign categories or vendors, change profitability assignments, or correct amounts.

Steps

  1. Open the Financial Dashboard or Ledger.
  2. Find the transaction you want to edit.
  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of the transaction row.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. The transaction dialog opens with all current values pre-filled.
  6. Make your changes to any fields — type, payment method, vendor, category, date, amount, tax, check number, description, groups, or tags.
  7. Click Save.

What You Can Change

All fields on a transaction are editable except:

  • Sale Ticket transactions — The payment type is locked to “Sale Ticket” and cannot be changed. The linked animals section is read-only.

Notes

  • Changes take effect immediately after saving.
  • The dashboard and ledger automatically refresh to show updated values.
  • If the transaction has an attached receipt with line items, the receipt details remain linked. To manage the receipt, open it separately.
