Navigating the Finance Workspace and Ledger
Cattle360 gives you two ways to view your financial data: the Finance Workspace (overview) and the Finance Ledger (detailed list). You can switch between them at any time.
Finance Workspace (Overview)
The Workspace is the default view when you open the Financial Dashboard. It focuses on:
- Summary cards showing Income, Expenses, Net, and Needs Review totals.
- Insight cards highlighting top categories, top vendors, items needing review, and large transactions.
- Quick view buttons to filter transactions by type or status.
This view is designed for a high-level snapshot of your financial health.
Finance Ledger
The Ledger is a full transaction list with advanced filtering. To switch to it, click the Open Ledger button in the top-right area of the dashboard.
Ledger Table Columns
The ledger displays your transactions in a sortable table:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Date | The transaction date. Click the column header to sort. |
| Description | The transaction description, vendor, category, and any review tags (e.g., “Missing Receipt” or “Uncategorized”). For sale tickets, linked animals are shown as chips. |
| Vendor | The vendor associated with the transaction. |
| Category | The assigned financial category. |
| Type | Shows Income or Expense. Sale tickets display a “Sale” badge. A receipt icon appears if a receipt is attached. |
| Amount | The transaction amount. Income is shown in green; expenses are shown in red. |
| Actions | A three-dot menu with Edit and Delete options. |
Expanding Receipt Line Items
If a transaction has an attached receipt with line items, click the expand arrow on the left side of the row. A sub-table will appear showing each line item's description, category, amount, and quantity.
Switching Back to Overview
Click the Overview button in the top-right area to return to the Workspace view.
