Searching for Animals

Cattle360 provides search across your entire herd so you can quickly find any animal by its identification.

How to Search

  1. Use the Search bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Type any part of the animal’s identifier.
  3. Matching results appear as you type.
  4. Click on an animal to open its record.

What You Can Search By

Search matches against all identification fields:

  • Ear Tag — Full or partial ear tag number.
  • EID — Electronic identification number.
  • Freeze Brand — Freeze brand identifier.
  • Name — The animal’s name.
  • Tattoo — Tattoo number or code.
  • Other Tag — Any additional tag identifier.

Filtering Animals Within Groups

When viewing animals inside a group, you can filter the list by:

  • Animal type — Bull, Cow, or Calf.
  • Sex — Filter by sex classification.
  • Status — Active, Sold, Dead, Missing, or Reference.

Tips

  • Search is instant. Results appear as you type — no need to press Enter.
  • Use partial matches. Typing “45” will find ear tags like “145,” “245,” and “450.”
  • EID search is useful during workings. If you scan an EID tag, you can paste the number into search to find the animal quickly.
