Resetting an Animal to Active

If an animal was mistakenly marked as sold, dead, or missing, you can reset it to active status.

How to Reset an Animal

  1. Open the animal’s record.
  2. Click Actions > Reset to Active.
  3. Confirm the action.

What Happens

  • The animal’s status changes back to Active.
  • Sale or death data may be cleared depending on the reset.
  • The animal reappears in active herd counts and smart groups filtered for active animals.

When to Use This

  • Mistaken sale — An animal was marked as sold by accident.
  • Mistaken death — An animal was reported dead but was actually found alive.
  • Missing animal returned — A missing animal has been located.

Important Notes

  • This action is tracked. All status changes are recorded in the audit log.
  • Review financial records. If the animal had a sale ticket, resetting to active does not automatically remove the financial transaction. Review the financials to make any necessary corrections.
