Animals Overview

The Animals section is the core of Cattle360. Every animal on your operation has a detailed record that tracks identification, lineage, production stage, health, weight, breeding, and disposition.

What Is an Animal Record?

An animal record contains everything Cattle360 knows about an individual animal:

  • Identification — Ear tag, EID, freeze brand, name, tattoo, other tag, and ear tag color.
  • Classification — Animal type (Bull, Cow, Calf, etc.), sex, and status.
  • Lineage — Sire (father) and dam (mother) assignments.
  • Physical details — Color, brand, castration status, dehorned status.
  • Birth and weaning — Birth date, birth weight, weaning date, weaning weight.
  • Acquisition — Whether the animal was raised or purchased, with purchase date and price.
  • Weight history — Multiple weight recordings over time.
  • Health records — Treatments, medications, withdrawal dates.
  • Breeding records — Breeding events, pregnancy status, and conception type.
  • Disposition — Sale or death information when applicable.
  • Groups and pastures — Current group memberships and pasture assignment.
  • Notes and ratings — Freeform notes and 5-star ratings across multiple categories.
  • Image — A photo of the animal.

Where to Access Animals

  • Dashboard — Quick access to add animals and view group summaries.
  • Groups — View animals within a specific group.
  • Pastures — View animals assigned to a specific pasture.
  • Search — Search across all animals by ear tag, EID, name, or other identifiers.
